David Walley + Co Solicitors acted for a young woman who was involved in a road traffic accident* in March 2011 when she suffered an injury to her back and had fear of driving and general anxiety.
An application was made to the Injuries Board by us on her behalf and the Injuries Board offered a sum of €17,000 to settle her injury claim* however David Walley advised against accepting this offer and to proceed to issue proceedings in the High Court. Further settlement offers were made by the Defendants and on the advice of David Walley, they were refused.
When the matter was on for hearing, the client, on the advice of David Walley, settled her claim at the door of the High Court for €32,000. This figure was nearly double the amount offered by the Injuries Board and the settlement included the payment of her party and party legal costs by the Defendant.
To prepare for the hearing, David Walley + Co had arranged for a Psychiatrist and a Casualty Consultant to provide reports and evidence for the hearing of the case which confirmed the complaints of the client. A full team of barristers was also employed by David Walley + Co to represent the client.
